Sahbi Hamrouni is a PhD in Physics at BECOME Laboratory

  • He earned his PhD from the Laboratory of Photovoltaics, located in Technopole Borj Cedria, Tunisia. During his doctoral studies, he extensively delved into the field of solid-state physics, focusing particularly on the preparation and characterization of absorber layers like CuInSe2 (CIS) and CuIn1-xGaxSe2 (CIGS), which play crucial roles in various technological applications, especially in solar cells.
  • Following the completion of his doctoral degree, he seamlessly transitioned into the role of a post-doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Systems for Renewable Energies (LANSER), housed within the Center for Research and Energ Technologies (CRTEn) at Technopole Borj Cedria. He contributed significantly to the European project MOBIDOC H2020, demonstrating his commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies through rigorous research endeavors.
  • His scholarly pursuits are multifaceted, spanning various absorber layers including CuInSe2, CuInS2, and Cu(Ga,In)(S,Se)2, employing an array of preparation and characterization techniques. Notably, his work extends beyond conventional boundaries, delving into the exploration of novel research avenues such as fabricating transparent conducting oxide (TCO) layers and investigating the impact of graphene doping on CIGS structures. His dedication to advancing the field is underscored by his publications in esteemed international journals.
  • Currently, he aligns his research interests with global demands for biomass and waste recovery, focusing on extracting cellulose from plants for diverse applications including bioplastics and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, he is exploring innovative approaches to develop biodegradable nanocomposites, thin layers, and sensors for various bio-applications.
